You can have the best intentions. Your recipes, your new and improved shopping list. Your measuring spoons out. Every morsel you put in your mouth counted. But...what do you when life catches up with you? If I were to recount the things I've endured in the past two weeks, I wouldn't believe it myself. From doctor to doctor, shots and more shots, surgeries, emergency rooms, heart monitors and spinal taps. Who could endure so much stress?? As I experienced these events day after day I just keep plugging away. It wasn't until I ate a WHOLE BOX OF OREO COOKIES that I bought for my son that I realized, "OK, life is catching up with me." As I ate, I thought "Why am I doing this? This is only going to make me feel worse." But I just could not stop myself. It was my fellow blogger and cousin that gave me the support I needed. I'm happy to say that today I measured, counted and wrote it all down. I fell off the wagon but got back on after three days. I stopped sabotaging myself and started over again.
There is nothing more comforting than a shoulder to lean on. Thanks for holding me up when I didn't have the strengh to do it myself.

The Truth about Dieting
There are so many times that our minds make the decision to be healthier and be in shape but our bodies seem not to get the message. For some dieting is as simple as cutting out the soda they drink but for most it is a constant struggle of choices. Even when you feel you make the right choices apparently you could be doing more....more water, less carbs, more protein. So in order to be healthier and be in shape you have to be miserable and eat nothing. So eventually I'll be lighter..... but happier we'll see. Okay so today I'm venting because I'm probably the only person on earth that diets but gains weight. Here we start week three and I promise to drink all my water each day, eat more protein and try my hardest to cut more carbs. Hopefully the scale next week will be just a little kinder.

I am taking it back.
"Mom can I have some juice?"
"Where are my keys?"
"I can't put my shoe on."
"Where are my dance clothes?"
Homework
Cooking
Shopping
Cleaning
Feeding the dog
Changing poop!!
The list of chores and responsibilites of a mother are infinite. It seems that each day it becomes more and more. Just when you think you've made your child independent, another demand is put on you. Where do you fit in all this? Is it any surprise that as you look around at mothers you often see tired, out of shape people? Women who used to make time for themselves don't even know who they are anymore. I often feel like I am drowing in my life. Like I am trying to just keep my head above water. I am being swallowed up by chores and responsibilities. I've come to a place now where I can say "Enough is enough." There is no reason why I can't put myself on my list of to do's. Why I can't say my health and happiness is just as important as my family's. So I am taking it back. I am putting myself on the important list. I am committed to feeling healthy and looking better than I've ever looked. Weight watchers is the perfect lifestyle to take me to that goal. I hope you come alone with me.

Finding Our Lighter Side
For many mothers we find ourselves at a place we never expected to be. No matter how many children you have it is important to always remember when the mommy is happy so is the family. I find it is time to take back the old me for me and for my family. Join us as we take this journey to a lighter side.
My First Blog
I may be way behind the times but with 4 kids, a husband, house and part-time job I have gotten lost in the world of technology. This first stage of my blog is sure to be boring but come back again as I learn and spice it up.
